HalalEat.eu is dedicated to creating a trustworthy platform where the Muslim community and halal food enthusiasts can discover authentic halal dining experiences across Europe. Our community guidelines ensure that all content is respectful, accurate, and helpful for fellow community members.

Halal Authenticity Standards

Verified Halal Status

  • Restaurants with recognized halal certification (e.g., HFA, MUI, JAKIM)
  • Clear display of halal certificates in the establishment
  • Muslim-owned restaurants with verified halal practices
  • Establishments that serve only halal meat and ingredients

Requires Verification

  • Restaurants claiming to be halal without visible certification
  • Mixed establishments serving both halal and non-halal items
  • Vegetarian/vegan restaurants (may be suitable but require clarification)

Not Permitted

  • Restaurants serving pork or alcohol
  • Establishments with no halal certification or verification
  • False claims about halal status
  • Restaurants that don't follow halal preparation standards

Review Guidelines

What Makes a Great Review

  • Authentic Experience: Based on your actual visit to the restaurant
  • Halal Verification: Mention visible halal certificates or verification methods
  • Detailed Feedback: Describe food quality, service, atmosphere, and value
  • Helpful Information: Include details about menu highlights, pricing, and accessibility
  • Respectful Tone: Use constructive language even when providing criticism
  • Recent Experience: Reviews should reflect recent visits (within the last 6 months)

Prohibited Review Content

  • Fake Reviews: Reviews not based on genuine experiences
  • Discriminatory Content: Reviews containing hate speech or discrimination
  • Personal Attacks: Targeting staff members or other reviewers personally
  • Spam or Promotional: Excessive promotional content or irrelevant information
  • Inappropriate Content: Offensive language, explicit content, or harassment
  • Competitor Sabotage: Deliberately negative reviews to harm competitors

Restaurant Submission Guidelines

Required Information

  • Complete restaurant name and address
  • Accurate contact information
  • Current operating hours
  • Halal certification details
  • High-quality photos of food and interior
  • Menu highlights and price ranges

Photo Guidelines

  • Clear, well-lit images
  • Show actual food and restaurant interior
  • Include halal certification if visible
  • No watermarks or promotional overlays
  • Respect privacy of other diners
  • Original photos only (no stock images)

Community Conduct

Respectful Communication

  • Treat all community members with respect and kindness
  • Engage in constructive discussions about halal dining
  • Respect cultural and religious differences within the Muslim community
  • Help newcomers understand halal dining options

Cultural Sensitivity

  • Understand that halal standards may vary between communities
  • Respect different interpretations of halal requirements

Moderation and Enforcement

  • All restaurant submissions are reviewed before publication
  • Reviews may be moderated for quality and appropriateness
  • Community reports are investigated promptly
  • We verify halal certifications when possible

Reporting Violations

Appeals Process

If you believe your content was removed or your account was suspended in error:

  3. Explain why you believe the action was incorrect
  4. We will review your appeal within 5 business days
  5. You will receive a response with our decision and reasoning
